ROCK COUNTY VETERAN HONOR ROLL PROJECT A joint effort is currently going on between the Historical Society and the veterans auxiliary. A roll of honor for all Rock county residents who served in the military is being updated and expanded. If you know of someone whom you think may have been left off of the previous list, send an email to Susan Barnes, rhsb@nntc.net she will make sure that the ladies get it. You must provide information to verify the claim of Rock county service.
THANK YOU! Rock County Historical Society sponsoring "CELLPHONES FOR SOLDIERS" from July 2008 was a huge success. We wish to thank all of those who donated their old cell phones. If you missed our drive please go to CellphonesForSoldiers.com and make a contribution with them.
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING Held on the last Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the RC&D meeting room in Bassett. Everyone is Welcome!
NEBRASKA RANCH EXPO on June 11-12, 2008 was a successful year for Rock County Historical Society. Our number of visitors to the museum was up this year. Cowboy Church Services were held in the historic church. Anyone wishing to use the church for a function can make arrangement with Kelly at 402-684-3327. The first wedding held in the church after it was moved to the museum complex was that of Angela Johns, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Harold Johns and Michael Spencer. Angela attended school in Bassett and graduated from Rock County High School. Rock county residents will remember Mr. Johns as the ag instructor and FFA sponsor. The Historical Society extend a big "Thank-You" to all who came to visit the museum complex.
